Art and Design at Park End on Film

Introducing our latest film Art and Design at Park End. Milne Graden Estate’s charming gate lodge, Park End, is the latest of our holiday cottages to be captured on film. This new instalment in our feature series Art and Design focuses on the carefully curated artworks and interiors throughout.

Park End, a Victorian gate lodge sits at the entrance to the Milne Graden Estate and is part of our Meadow’s Edge series. A charming period cottage which is the perfect romantic hideaway for two – with room for a baby, and the dog can come too!

The interiors at Park End were revamped for the 2019 holiday season and embrace our soft country style. A modern minimal feel is combined with some of our classic accents. A favourite Milne Graden Chelsea Textiles check contrasts well with the country slate floors.

Our unique setting on the banks of the Tweed provides endless inspiration for all our creative projects. We like to bring the outside in when crafting our cottage interiors – a philosophy for all our design at Milne Graden.

We are continuously drawn to works created by Scottish artist and printmaker Angie Lewin. Her pieces have provided inspiration for several of our cottages. We feature the energetic piece Salt Marsh Storm 11 at North Lodge on the Milne Graden 10th anniversary film in 2018.

Here at Park End, Ramsons and Campions serves as an anchor and focal point above the stove in the sitting room, and like a carpet all the other colours and patterns follow. This piece mirrors the shapes and tones from the surrounding woodland and is a reminder of our close proximity to water.

The bedroom takes on a restful palette, allowing the beautiful and bold “Deer Park” fabric designed by our brand artist Andrew Davidson to take centre stage on the oversized headboard. This design is taken from an original woodcut and we feel it reflects the magical woodland setting perfectly.

This holiday cottage has a generous private garden to the rear which means plenty of space to enjoy its secluded setting, and the outdoor table and chairs are ideal for making the most of the long summer evenings.

Whether in search of a romantic break or a relaxing getaway, Park End is the perfect country cottage escape for couples.

Don’t forget. as with all Milne Graden holiday cottages, dogs are ‘more than’ welcome at Park End and we regularly receive a paws up from our canine holiday guests on the doggy feedback cards. Your furry friends can look forward to a welcome treat bag and exclusive use of the residents only Tails of the Tweed Dog Park – Woof!
