The constant search for new ideas, experiences and luxuries has brought a brand-new skincare range, ishga, to the estate, and it perfectly fits our values. These gorgeous products have been tried and tested, and are adored by the whole team so we just had to pop a hand and body wash into every bathroom.
The simple task of washing hands can easily go unnoticed, however, we all do it many times a day, and so only the best products especially during the cold winter months will help us all as the winter bug grip the nation. We have searched high and low to find a Scottish-sourced skincare range, that prioritises skin health along with sustainability. ishga, a name derived from the Gaelic word for water, is a sustainable, organic seaweed skincare brand based on the Hebridean Islands off the northwest coast of Scotland.
The company uses four types of seaweed that are sustainably harvested by hand to create an organic skincare range. Containing potent natural antioxidants, the Hebridean seaweed has properties which transform, restore and protect the skin.
Since starting in 2013, the ocean has been at the heart of this award-winning skincare company. The core ingredient of the skincare range is their unique seaweed extract which contains an abundance of vitamins and bioactive minerals. This seaweed extract is combined with the highest quality natural ingredients to produce a luxurious product.
The ishga team harvest four types of seaweed weekly from the shores of the Isle of Lewis, allowing nature to replenish its stocks by rotating its harvesting locations. These four types of seaweed, Fucus Serratus seaweed, Pelvetia Canaliculata seaweed, Ascophyllum Nodosum seaweed and Fucus Vesiculosis seaweed, each contain skin-enhancing properties which create hydration, healing, and protection.
Their luxurious body & hand wash, which can be used by every Milne Graden guest, contains organic coconut oil as a natural moisturiser and include scents of lavender, rose geranium, lemongrass and juniper berry essential oils.
